Chracter generation almost complete
Steve and Scott stepped up to the plate this
afternoon fresh on the heels of Mike's creation a few days ago. I
shall begin this article by stating that Steve knocked two 18's out of the park
and rolled up a strong Ranger. Now Scott on the other
hand....Well....Let's just say that his character was hopeless. Yes...
That's a good description of 8's, 9's, and 10's. In an effort to make
Scott believe in a God again (and to somewhat legitimize a third set of rolls
in the eyes of other players) his "hopeless" character was sacrificed to a
party of 6 Kobolds and destroyed. He then rolled a mediocre set of new
numbers and pressed his Cleric/Magic-User into service.
Let us now learn of the new "3rd Roll Rule": If a
character does not roll above an 11 on any of his or her ability scores, they
are entitled to roll a 3rd set of seven 4d6's.

-Chracter generation
started for the U1 campaign
Four of the seven party members met with the DM on
Friday night to begin the creation of their characters. Things
immediately began badly for the two experienced D&D veterans with their
first rolls for the ability scores. Brian rolled a 12, 9, 11,
6, 11 and 9. Yep.... It was pretty bad. The DM gave Brian the choice
of playing either a Half-Orcish carnival side-show freak or a lobotomized
Dwarven janitor. Trevor faired no better.
Having been faced with DM'ing a party full
of drooling simps, the DM decided to expand the ability score rolling
method for all players. After all, it has been a very long time since we
played and who wants to relive past glories with a character who could barely
function as a beggar, let alone an adventurer.
