- he never used the heinous "weapon vs particular armor" modifiers chart
- he doesn't use weapon speeds
- he doesn't use the 1e psionics system, which was tacked on to the PHB at the insistence of someone else. Apparently, he doesn't personally care for psionics.
- Every single person on the cover of the PHB is a portrait of Dave Trampier, except for one guy at the edge - and that's Gary Gygax.
